Where to read Overgeared: novel, manhwa and book editions
Overgeared · Updated 2026-10-18
Publication, format and opening-premise information, checked 18 October 2026. No later plot outcomes or anime-to-chapter mapping.
For Overgeared in English, Wuxiaworld carries the prose novel, Tapas has separate novel and comic listings, and Ize Press publishes the comic in book volumes. Choose the format first: identical series titles do not make episode, chapter and volume numbers interchangeable. [1] [2] [3] [4]

The prose novel: Wuxiaworld or Tapas's novel listing
Wuxiaworld lists Overgeared by Park Saenal, translated by rainbowturtle and licensed from Mayamaru. The listing marks the novel completed and displays 2,059 chapters. Its publisher information also links a re-edited book version, so a numbered prose book is another edition to distinguish from the web serialization.
Tapas separately carries Overgeared as a Novel. Its credits name Park Saenal, MAYA&MARU and rainbowturtle/Wuxiaworld, and the page marks the series completed. Choose this Novel entry when you want prose; the Tapas Comic entry is a different reading format.
The scrolling comic: Tapas's Comic listing
For the English comic adaptation, use Tapas's Overgeared Comic page, credited to Saenal, Monohumbug (Redice Studio) and Team Argo. This is the illustrated version; it should not be mistaken for Tapas's prose series just because both are called Overgeared.
The comic's public listing offers a free first entry and labels later access through its own unlock system. Check the entry you want on the platform before choosing how to read: displayed episode totals, unlock rules and availability can change. A free opening does not establish that the complete series is freely available.

The comic in books: Ize Press volumes
Ize Press publishes the English comic in numbered Overgeared volumes. The publisher's volume-one page lists both digital and paperback formats and credits Team Argo as artist, Monohumbug as adapter and Saenal as original author. These are comic books, not the prose novel's numbered books.
Use the publisher's volume and format details when buying or borrowing. The same title and volume number can appear in different formats, so check the ISBN if you need a particular edition. Retail links on the publisher page provide a more reliable starting point than guessing from a cover or a search-result thumbnail.

Why chapter and episode numbers do not line up automatically
The platforms' own opening entries show the numbering trap. Tapas's comic listing calls its first platform entry Episode 1 but gives that entry the title Episode 0. Its novel listing begins with a Prologue, followed by an entry titled Chapter 1. A platform's entry counter and a story's printed chapter title can therefore refer to different numbers.
When recording your place, save the format, platform and displayed chapter or episode title together. This guide does not provide a verified anime-to-comic or comic-to-novel conversion. If you want to avoid skipping material when moving formats, starting that edition from its beginning is the dependable option until the exact transition has been checked.
Is the novel finished if the comic is still updating?
Yes: the checked Wuxiaworld and Tapas novel pages mark the prose series completed, while the Tapas comic page lists Saturday updates. Those statuses belong to different formats. Completion of the source novel does not by itself say that the comic or anime has reached the same endpoint.
